Phenyl mercuric acetate (PMA), a potent antitranspirant at thre concentration 50 ppm, 100 ppm and 150 ppm was used for preservation of mulberry leaves through foliar spray before 24 hours of leaf harvest, the preserved leaves were fed to the young age silkworm B. mori L. The antitranspirant when sprayed at 150 ppm decrease the leaf driage by 4.6% only as compared to control where 11.07% was registered. The cocoon yield was also increased by 21% through foliar spray of antitranspirant during dry season.
