The effect of different pinching methods on growth, development and flower production of carnation cv. 'Chabaud Mix' was studied under open condition. It was observed in this experiment that double pinching performed better in relation to other treatments regarding number of side shoots (20.13), number of leaves (820.06) and number of flowers (126.45) per plant and duration of flowering (148.78 days). The unpinched plants produced flower earliest (58.31 days after planting), had the longest plant height (47.62 cm), but the flower yield was very low (50.56 per plant). The maximum size of flower was obtained from the single pinching (5.66 cm) which was closely followed by the no pinching treatment (5.58 cm).
