Therapeutic efficacy of ivermectin and moxidectin was assessed against certain arthropod parasites like lice, ticks and fleas on dogs. Ivermectin given subcutaneously @200 µg/kg. b. wt. at weekly intervals completely cured lice (Heterodoxus spp.) infestation in dogs. Single dose of the either drugs @ 200 µg/kg. b. wt. was enough to eliminate mild infestation of Rhipicephalus sanguineus ticks. However, Ctenocephalides canis fleas infestation could not be eliminated by these drugs.
