One screen house experiment was conducted to study the effect of DTPA extractable heavy metals on the yield and content of Indian mustard. The DTPA extractable Zn, Ni and Cd in post harvest soil samples showed an increasing trend with increasing their metal level either alone or in combination with multimetals in soils treated with and without sludge. The stover and seed yield of mustard decreased quadratically with increasing amount of DTPA extractable Zn, Ni and Cd content in both sewage-sludge treated and untreated soil. The concentration of Zn, Ni and Cd increased quadratically in mustard stover and seeds with their metal levels in both post harvest sewage-sludge untreated and treated soil.
