Effect of Cutting Height on C and N Reserves and Consequent Regrowth in Frequently Defoliated Turf-Type Perennial Ryegrass (Lolium perenne L.)
2001
Kim, D.H. | Jung, W.J. (Chonnam National University, Kwangju, Korea Republic)
Carbohydrate and soluble protein reserves and regrowth characteristics in response to cutting height were investigated over four regrowth cycles of turf-type perennial ryegrass (Lolium perenne L. cv. prelude¥+/-). When the plants were at th full-vegetative stage (twelve weeks-old), three sequential defoliations at 3, 6 and 9 cm above the root base were imposed at 2-week intervals.
