The aim of this studies was investigation of quantitative and qualitative changes of neuronal structures in forestomach in 8 cattle with ketosis. The results showed presence of different types of innervation in forestomach of cattle with ketosis. Weak innervation was seen to correlate with degenerative changes of the same nerve elements in 5 cattle. Hyperinnervation was found in correlation with abundance of neurofilaments and myelin in 2 cases. Only one animal showed forestomach innervation similar to normal. None of types possessed neuropeptides in neuronal elements in cattle with ketosis. We suggest about morphofunctional insufficience of forestomach in cattle with ketosis rising the questions - what does appier the first - changes in innervation or in the forestomach other structures, and are these changes reversable or not?
