A study was conducted on 500 eggs collected from Japanese quails reared in cages to investigative various egg traits and inter-relationship among them. Average egg weight, length, width, albumin weight, yolk weight, shell weight, shell thickness and egg shape index was 8.51 plus minus 0.08 g, 2.89- 0.02 cm, 2.38 plus minus 0.01 cm. 4.44 plus minus 0.05 g. 2.72 plus minus 0.04 g, 1.35 plus minus 0.03 g , 0.34 plus minus 0.01 mm and 82.35 plus minus 0.74%, respectively. Egg weight was found significantly (p less than 0.01) and positively associated with egg width (b = 22.655127 plus minus 0.46) and length (b = 1.835144 plus minus 0.25). Weight of egg albumin had a positive association with egg weight (b = 0.4606 plus minus 0.02*], egg length (b = 0.0798 plus minus 0.10 NS) and width (b = 0.4122 plus minus 18]. Weight of egg yolk was also found positively associated with egg weight (b = 0.3486 plus minus 0.022) and egg length (b=0.168628 plus minus 0.096] but negatively associated with egg width (b = -0.0207855 plus minus 0.170 NS). Egg shape index was found positively correlated with egg width (r = 0.044 NS) but negatively correlated with egg length (r = -0.738] and egg weight (r = - 0.141*]. Eggshell weight was found positively associated with egg weight (b=0.050923 plus minus 0.0245], egg length (b=0.217310 plus minus 0.10766] and width (b=0.27228 plus minus 0.19006 NS). Eggshell thickness was found positively associated with egg length (b=0.011622 plus minus 0.130 NS), width (b=0.071842 plus minus 0.8970*] and egg weight (b=0.000411 plus minus 0.003166 NS). NS - Non- significant: * = Significant, and ** = Highly significant.
