F2 population of six cross combinations viz WLRG-3 x LU26S, WLRG-3 x 5039, WLRG-4 x 5039, WLRG-5 x 5039, WLRG-6 x 5039 and WLRG-6 x LU26S involving six wheat strains/lines were studied to ascertain the broad-sense heritability and genetic advance for spike length, number of spikelets per spike, number of grains per spike, 1000-grain weight and grain yield per plant. The broad-sense heritability value for spike length, number of spikelets per spike ranged from 48.53 to 59.72 percent and 58.38 to 79.09 percent respectively, while the broad-sense heritability estimates ranged from 37.32 to 86.21 percent and 63.31 to 90.86 percent for number of grains per spike and 1000-grain weight respectively. The broad-sense heritability for grain yield per plant ranged from 65.58 to 90.01. The genetic advance values for spike length, number of spikelets per spike, number of grains per spike, 1000-grain weight and grain yield ranged from 1.06 to 1.62, 1.81 to 2.82, 7.26 to 30.49, 7.90 to 21.51 and 4.95 to 11.61 respectively.
