Evaluation of Dermanyssus gallinae on the farm and laying hens

Very fast development of red-mite population was found in 18 to 37 week period of breeding (from 2.25 to a few hundred specimen in sample). Big congestion of birds in cages and suitable environment were conductive to fast multiplay of parasites. There was ascertained that, significant effect of D. gallinae invasion on egg laying and insignificant on birds body weight. There was also found, that acarides application does not restrain invasion of D. gallinae in poultry farm
