The influence of meteorological factors on concentration of fungal spores in the air
2003
Medrela-Kuder, E. (Academy of Physical Education, Cracow (Poland). Dept. of Hygiene and Health Protection)
The aim of the project was to define concentration and taxonomic attachment of fungal spores in the air of Cracow taking into account such meteorological parameters as temperature, rainfall and wind speed. The research, which was done between January and december 1999, was based on the sedimentation method. The quantity of fungal spores showed characteristic variations all through the year. Spores of Cladosporium, Alternaria, Penicillium and Stemphylium were dominant. Substantial dependence of temperature and total number of fungal spores in air was shown
