Postpartum anoestrus on different breeds of ewes: 2 - Nursing twice a day [Portugal]

The main aim of this paper was to study the physiological postpartum anoestrus on wintwr-spring lambed Portuguese autochthonous Churra da Terra Quente breed and exotic Ile de France breed, nursing twice a day. Twenty-four Churra da Terra Quente and sixteen Ile de France ewes were randomly selected to this study. We have considered that the ewes were in anoestrus until their plasmatic levels of progesterone rose above 0.5 ng/ml. According to results the study of physiological postpartum anoestrus duration on these ewe breeds depends on their seasonal anoestrus
