Mashua: Tropaeolum tuberosum Ruiz & Pav.
2003
Grau, A. (Univ. Tucuman (Argentina)) | Ortega Duenas, R. | Nieto Cabrera, C. | Hermann, M.
Mashua is economically much less important than the other Andean tuber crops, but, as this monograph is intended to show, the crop's potential has been largely overlooked and opportunities for wider use within its native range and beyond have remained unexplored. If a wider market could be identified and marketing resources made available, mashua would be an excellent condidate for crop improvement, because of its low input requirements, pest and disease tolerance, high productivity and multipurpose uses.
