Effect of [D-Arg 6, Trp 7, Leu 8, Pro 9, NHET] gonadotropin releasing hormone and domperidone on releasing gonadotropin hormone and spawning of Puntius gonionotus Bleeker

144 females of Puntius gonionotus weight 393.19+/-11.51 grams were injected by sGnRH [D-Arg 6, Trp 7, Leu 8, Pro 9, NHET] at the dose of 0, 1, 5, 10 micro g/kg with the combination of Domperidone at the dose of 0, 1, 5, 10 mg/kg. After 0, 3, 6 and 9 hrs of injection, plasma gonadotropin of injected fish were monitor by radioimmunoassay and the number of ovulated females were recorded. From this experiment we concluded that the combination of sGnRH 10 micro g/kg plus domperidone 5 mg/kg is the most effective dose to increase plasma gonadotropin and induce ovulation in injected females fish.
