Total number of 124 growing grey Chinese geese were divided into four groups according to their sexes (male and female) and initial weights (small2 kglarge). Geese in each group were further divided according to feeding protein levels of the by-product from dehulling of cowpea (BPDC) substituted for protein of defatted soybean meal (DSM) at the levels of 0, 25, 50 and 100 percent. The results showed that the BPDC protein were used, the more adverse effects were on growth rate, feed conversion and carcass quality. However, there were no significant differences in sex, initial weight or interaction between them in percent carcass and meat production. Economically, the BPDC should be substituted at 25 percent and used for small ganders.
