Comparative macroanatomical investigations on the pattern and branches of the descending aorta among the rooster, drake and pigeon

This research was conducted to observe comparatively pattern of branching and distribution of the descending aorta in rooster, drake and pigeon, each of which belongs to three different avian orders. A number of 10 Leghorn roosters, 10 domestic drakes and 10 pigeons, all being matured and provided from Ankara region, were used in the study. The materials were either injected with red-colored latex through the left ventricule or corrosion casted with mono- and polymethylmethacrylate (takilon). Pattern of branching and distribution of the descending aorta in rooster, drake and pigeon, each of which belongs to three different avian orders were documented comparatively
