Preliminary study on determination of antibody to Haemophilus paragallinarum serotype C by hemagglutination inhibition test was perfomed using H. paragallinarum serotype C, local isolated form infraorbital sinus of experimented chicken, as antigen. It was found that KSCN extract antigen showed greater HA activity with glutaraldehyde fixed chicken red blood cell than the reaction between non extracted antigen and fresh chicken red blood cell. Sera samples were collected from 4 groups of layer and broiler chicken and tested for HI titer to H. paragallinarum serotype C using KSCN extracted antigen and GA-fixed c-rbc. The HI titer results were related to flock history on vaccination programme and disease occurrence. In chicken with no vaccination and no disease, the GMT of HI titer was 2.58. For vaccinated chicken, in flock with no disease occurred, the GMT was 6.6 whereas in the flocks with disease, GMT were 10.5 and 21.43.
