Aerodynamic coefficients at the floating or terminal velocity, of some 6 varieties of cereal grains were investigated. The selected varieties were chosen as a typical physical shape characteristics of a long grain rice, a short grain rice, a heavy grain wheat, a light grain wheat, a barley grain and a sorghum grain. Experiment was done on a specially designed vertical up-draft wind tunnel. Whereas the grains were free floated in the air stream of the test section which revealed the ranges of floating positions for each particular type of grain under the local properties of the air stream. Leading to the evaluations of aerodynamic properties at terminal velocity of all selected varieties of grains Variations of ambient properties and the grain moisture content could affect the required terminal velocity of grains as well as causing the shift of the range of terminal velocity. In order to determine the terminal velocity of grain for other ambient conditions, it was suggested that the Resistance coefficient offer more covenience calculation than using the Drag coefficient.
