[Legal support of standardizing and norming the atmospheric air pollution]

Considered are the Laws of Ukraine "On standardizing", "On protection of the environment", "On atmospheric air protection", the Convention "On transboundary air pollution for far distances". The content and aims of these normative documents and results of introducing thereof are analyzed. The attention is drawn to the fact that the establishing the normatives and proper standards is caused by the deterioration of the ecological situation, in particular in the field of power energy (an increase in carbon dioxide emissions in atmospheric air). Outlined are the top-priority measures for regulating and stabilizing the state of the air, among which there are strengthening the technological discipline at industrial enterprises, revising the lists of the main pollutants of atmospheric air, regulating the emissions of the pollutants. It is recommended to develop standards of the quality of atmospheric air harmonized with the international system of standards and target programmes of actions aimed at gradual lowering of the level of air pollution for short-term, medium-term and long-term prospects for the places with the increased level of atmospheric air pollution
