The basis for land use ecologization is stated to lie in searching the optimum ratio of agricultural lands and sowing areas, rational territory organization, which ensure ecologically safe management on the land, preserving and restoring the soil fertility, productivity of eroded and other degraded lands. Tabulated are the main lines of conservation of degraded and low-productive agricultural lands of the Cherkasy oblast. Deflation, salinity, the presence of solonetz soils, overmoistening and swamping of the lands became subject to analysis. Based on economic assessment of degraded and low productive soils, the lines of use thereof and money assessment are determined (on an example of the Drabiv land assessment district). A conclusion is drawn that the conservation of soils, which are low productive and degraded as a result of their irrational use, allows ensuring the protection and preserving these lands while achieving a proper economic effect
