[Assessing the agrolandscape radiological state, pollution of feeds, meat, milk (on an example of Kyiv oblast's Bila Tserkva rayon)]
2003
Hamaliy, I.P.
Investigated are agrolandscapes, the soils of which are weakly polluted, in a patchy manner, with radionuclides after a radiation accident in Ukraine's Right Bank Forest-Steppe. A method of assessing the radionuclide pollution is improved, indices thereof are analyzed and a comparative assessment is carried out, the levels of pollution of the agrolandscapes and agricultural products are determined. According to the assessment of the indices, as the severe and average polluted territories, recognized are interfluvial strips with the forest cover; as the average and weakly polluted ones, water meadows and the first above-water meadow forest terraces; the agrolandscape as a whole is referred to that average polluted. Given are indices of feed, meat and milk pollution. To improve pastures and grasslands within the ranges of the agrolandscapes and to lower coming the radionuclides into animal production, it is recommended to create culture pastures with a grass stand no lower than 10 cm, that should limit coming the radioactive substances owing to the sod, wherein the most part of them is concentrated
