Aqueous extracts of Maesa ramentacea leaves, Sapindus rarak and S. emarginatus fruits were assayed for antifungal activity by agar plate method. All three extracts showed a high level of activity against various plant pathogenic fungi. Alternaria brassicicola was the most affected by the leaf extract of M. ramentacea. An elite M. ramentacea, PSU3, was selected from a number of trees from various locations, on the basis of its minimal inhibitory concentration and minimal fungicidal concentration aganist A. brassicicola.
