Series of glasshouse experiments was conducted to determine the fertility status and nutrient requirements of Stylosanthes hamata cv. Verano grown in Kho Hong soil series (Coarse loamy siliceous Typic Paleudults). It was found that P, N, K, S, and Cu were the limiting nutrient elements for S. hamata grown in this soil. Plant growth response to liming was also found in this acid soil. The suitable rates of these nutrients and lime for the pasture legume growth were investigated. The nutrients and lime required for normal growth were (kg element/ha) : P50 kg/ha, N 100-200 kg/ha, K 100 kg/ha, S 20 kg/ha, and lime [Ca (OH)2] 325 ha.
