To study the effect of colostrum replacer (bovine colostrum derived) on the growth rate of the piglets, 81 newborn piglets (1.3-2.0 kg bw.) from a farm in Khon Kaen province, were divided into 2 groups. The piglets in the control group (n=41) were normally left with their sows. In the treatment group, the piglets (n=40) were supplemented with colostrum replacer at 24 and 72 hours after birth (each time 2.5 g/piglet). All piglets were weighed at birth 3, 7, 14 and 21 days. The result showed that there was no significant difference (P0.05) between the weights of the piglets in the 2 groups at each period.
