Study was made to compare effects of four species of VA mycorrhizal fungi, namely Acaulospora spinusa, Gigaspora gigantia, Gigaspora margarita and Entrophospora sp. no 1 on growth of corn. The experiment was conducted in pots with sterile soil. Results showed that inoculation with Acaulopora spinusa and with the mixture of these four species gave the largest, significant increase in growth of corn plants, Inoculation with Gigaspora gigantea and Gigaspora magarita increased plant growth significantly whereas inoculation with Entrophospora sp. no 1 did not. Hyperparasitism of Gigaspora margarita by black and septate mycelial fungus was observed.
