The contents of nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), Potassium (K) and total non-structural cabohydrates (TNC) of leaves of nine years old Mon Thong durian trees infected with different levels of Phytophthora palmivora Butl were determined at a private orchard in Rayong Province. Mature leaf samples were collected from three categories of durian trees grown in the same plot namely 1) normal healthy 2) medium infected and 3) severely infected trees. Three physiological stages were set for leaf sample analyses; they were a) after harvesting b) before flower initiation and c) during fruit development. N, K and TNC contents in leaves increased with the severity of infection whereas P content and content and yield decreased. The nutritional content of leaves at differnt physiological stages showed a rise in P and TNC contents from after harvest to fruit bearing stage. Among the three stages, N and K contents were optimal at the time before flower initiation and these contents dropped to the lowest level at the fruit developmental stage.
