Corn cv. Suwan 1 was stressed by 100mM NaCl solution under different irrigation methods at relative humidity of 35 percent and 80 percent. The plants grown under continuous irrigation showed a favorable growth. The enrichment of Ca, K, Mg could improve growth and lessen Nn concentration in shoot. The low humidity (35 percent) resulted in drastic decrease in relative growth rate (RGR). The Na content in shoot was not totally responsible for this reduction. Salt-induced damage during initial growth could be reduced by seed soaking, application of 1 percent agar to soil and surface mulching.
