Nitrogen fertilizer recommendation for corn grown in some important soils of Petchaboon province using a CERES-Maize modeling was studied. The predicted yield of corn and the benefit calculated from the modeling program was generated for each soil series at different level of nitrogen content. The results showed that Chai Badan (Cd) and Pak Chong (Pc) series are the suitable soils for growing corn. The predicted yield were in the range of 800-850 kg/rai. The benefit was in the range of 2,200-2,300 baht/rai using Suwan 5 corn variety. The nitrogen fertilizer was added at 5 kg N/rai for soils with medium content of organic carbon. For the case of Suwan 3601 variety, the predicted yield were in the range of 900-950 kg/rai, with the benefit of 2,400-2,500 baht/rai. IN the case of Lum Narai (Ln) soil, the predicted yield was 883 kg/rai with the benefit of 2,122 baht/rai using Suwan 5 variety and 10 kg N/rai of nitrogen fertilizer. The predicted yield of 800-900 kg/rai of corn grown on the Warin (Wn) and Thap Kwang (Tw) soils were observed with the benefit of 2,000-2,100 baht/rai using Suwan 5 Variety and 15 kg N/rai. If Suwan 3601 was used, the predicted yield of 900-1,000 kg/rai was obtained with the benefit of 2,300-2,400 baht/rai in Lum Narai (Ln), Tab Kwang (Tw) and Warin (Wn) soils with 15 kg N/rai.
