During the period of the trial (April-July), the sheep were reared on pastures with various altitude: 500 m (in April), 800 m (in May and June) and 1500 m (in July), in sredna Stara planina mountain. In April, the animals were grazing and fed up with concentrate whereas during the other time they were only grazing.
