Study of oral vaccination against cold-water disease in cultured ayu, Plecoglossus altivelis, 1: Efficacy of oral vaccination with enteric-coated microcapsules
2001
Hara, H. (Kanagawa-ken. Fisheries Experiment Station, Miura (Japan))
Cold-water disease vaccine encapsulated in the enteric-coated microcapsules (MC) was given to cultured Ayu by oral route. When MC was made to mix with the artificial feed, agglutinating antibody titers was raised in 2 individuals out of 5 individuals examined. On the other hand, agglutinating antibody titers was not raised when the feed adsorbed with vaccine liquid were provided. These results indicate the possibility of obstructive efficacy of oral vaccination with MC for cold-water disease in cultured Ayu.
