This publication is about fire, insects and diseases which are integral components of forest dynamics; however, under certain conditions they adversely affect tree growth and survival. While they may contribute to a decline in natural woodlands and forests, their effect on plantations has greater economic impact as plantations are the main source of wood for the future.
