Pests and diseases of agroforestry trees | Report on investigations of crotalaria defoliator and canker disease of crotalaria grahamina in Western Kenya
2002
Mutitu, K. E. | Mwangi, L. M.
C. grahamiana is one of the leguminous shrubs used in improved fallows in Western Kenya. It is used to replenish soil nutrients in farms. The species is therefore widely planted in the area. In the year 2000 a defoliar (Amphicallia pactolicus) was found attacking the species and had become a serious problem. Research work was initiated to study the insect pest and devise control strategies. This report covers entomological and pathological research work carried out on crotalaria species that are widely planted in fallows systems in western Kenya
