The impact of some factors on nodulation of acacia spp.
1995
El Atta, Hashim A. | Osman, Um Salma E.
The study demonstrated the impact of soil moisture, temperature, and soil reaction (PH) on nodulation of six Acacia spp. Increasing the soil moisture content from 15% to 35% doubled the frequency of nodulation in A. mellifera, A. torliles, A. nilotica and A. senegal, where as the frequency of nodulation was tripled in A. seyal and A. albida. Mean frequency of nodulation increased from 6.5 nodules in winter to 15.3 nodules in summer. Absolutely any plant in acidic soil produced no nodules. Nodulation was minimum in alkine soil, where as maximum nodulation occurred in slightly acidic soil.
