[Methods of experimental research in power vehicle fuel consumption]

Consumption of fuel is an important characteristic feature of power vehicles. Consumption of fuel can be determined in experiments. The experiments with power vehicles can be carried out on the roads as well as on roller type power stands imitating resistance forces on power vehicles. It is necessary to determine the consumption of fuel for the needs of the transport enterprise; the experiments are usually done in actual road conditions. The article analyses the methods and equipment of determination of fuel consumption in automobiles using diesel motors and Otto motors with gasoline and liquid petroleum gas (LPG) feeding equipment. In the determination of fuel consumption for diesel motors and Otto motors the volume methods was acknowledged to be the most optimal, but for LPG motors the balance method.
