Effect of nitrogen fertilizers on the biosynthesis of polyamines in narrow-leafed lupin (Lupinus angustifolius)
2001
Barlog, P. | Matuszczak, B.
In 3-year experiment, the effect of various forms of nitrogen fertilizers: Ca(NO3)2, (NH4)SO4, NH4NO3, CO(NH2)2 on the biosynthesis of free polyamines (Put, Ppd, Spm, Cad) by Lupinus angustifolius L. was investigated. Mineral fertilizers were used in a pre-sowing application in a dose of 75 kg N/ha. The effect of nitrogen fertilization depended on the chemical form of the applied fertilizer as well as on the growth stage of lupine. In the phase of 6-7 leaves, lupine of low alkaloid varieties fertilized with ammonium sulphate was characterized by a significantly higher content of free Put than that fertilized with the remaining fertilizers. During this phase, the average effect of nitrogen fertilizers on polyamine accumulation was as follows: O CO(NH2)2
