Effect of blood meal on soil fertility, growth and yield of organic zucchini grown under greenhouse in South of Morocco

Inglés. Organic vegetables is one of the major sectors of organic agriculture. Organic fertilizers are among the organic means that can supply nutrients to vegetable crops, and improve soil fertility. One of the organic fertilizers is blood meal which is a good source of nitrogen (12#percent#) and phosphorous (2#percent#). The present experiment aimed to study the effect of blood meal on zucchini crop, soil fertility, and to determine the suitable concentrations that can be used. The experiment was conducted in south of Morocco; three concentrations of blood meal were used namely 10kg/ha, 15kg/ha, 20kg/ha. Parameters related to plant growth, soil and vegetative characteristics were collected. Results showed that blood meal increased the crop yield, the number of leaves and the plant height more than in the control. Analyses showed that nitrate and ammonium concentrations in the soil were more available than in the control treatments. The C/N ratio decreased with blood meal application over time.

Francés. Les cultures maraéchéres constituent l'un des secteurs majeurs de l'agriculture biologique; les engrais biologiques sont les moyens qui peuvent approvisionner les cultures maraéchéres. La farine de sang est une bonne source d'azote (12#percent#) et de phosphore (2#percent#). Cet essai a pour but l'étude de l'effet de la farine de sang sur une culture de courgette, sur la fertilité du sol et l'identification des concentrations les plus appropriées. Cette expérience a été menée au Maroc; on a utilisé trois concentrations de farine de sang et notamment 10 kg/ha,, 15 kg/ha, 20 kg/ha. On a contrélé les paramétres relatifs au sol, é la croissance végétale et aux caractéristiques végétatives. Les résultats ont montré que la farine de sang augmente le rendement, le nombre de feuilles, la hauteur de la plante. Les teneurs en ammonium dans le sol étaient plus disponibles que dans le témoin. Le rapport C/N s'en trouve réduit au fur et é mesure des applications de la farine de sang.
