Effect of limestone powder and bamboo fiber on mechanical properties of cement boards

Objective of this research is to study the effect of limestone powder and bamboo fiber on mechanical properties of cement boards. The constituent materials are cement, bamboo fiber, rice husk ash and limestone powder. Weight of bamboo fiber and cement-rice husk ash ratio by weight are kept constant. The parameters are limestone powder to binder ratio by weight i.e. ((0.2:1), (0.4:1), (0.6:1), (0.8:1) and (1:1)). The test results showed that moisture content of boards with any ratio of limestone powder was lower than the corresponding value of boards with any ratio of limestone power was lower than the corresponding value of boards without limestone powder. Whereas flexural strength of board without wet-dry process of board; flexural strength of board containing limestone powder to binder ratio equal to 1:1 after 4, 16 and 24 wet-dry process and compressive strength of board containing limestone powder to binder ratio 0.4:1 were the highest among group of board containing limestone powder.
