1999
Sirikachorn Tangkawattana | Prasarn Tangkawattana
In a necropsy of 44 dogs, thirty-four dogs (13 males, 21 females) had heartworms in their hearts and pulmonary arteries. Among these, the evidence of shrunkening and nodular thickening of the right atrioventricular valves and roughness and villous proliferation on the inner wall of pulmonary artery were revealed in only 19 dogs (9 males, 10 females). Although the pathological findings were not statistically related to age and sex of the infected dogs, the heartworm infection and number of adult heartworms resided in the heart and pulmonary artery were statistical significantly related to the findings at the level of 0.05.
