Effects of silicon and phosphorus on phosphorus uptake of rice and corn grown on acid sulfate soils, Rangsit very acid series were studied. The pot experiment showed that total phosphorus uptake, growth and yield of rice and corn were increased dramatically when silicon was applied together with phosphorus. Combined application of phosphorus and silicon increased the total numbers of spikelet per pot and decreased the percentage of unfilled grain resulting in increasing rice yield. The combined application gave the beter results than application of phosphorus alone.
