Experiment was carried out to investigate the effect of weeding and nitrogen application on the yield and mineral content of wheat. Three levels of weeding viz. no weeding, one weeding on the 25th day of seeding, two weedings on 25th and 50th days of seeding and three levels of nitrogen viz. 0, 69 and 104 kg N/ha were applied. Both weeding and nitrogen applications significantly increased the yield and nutrient content of wheat. Of the three weeding treatments, two weedings was found significantly superior to one weeding and no weeding with respect to all the parameters studied. On the contrary, a linear significantly increased trend on grain yield was exhibited by the increase in nitrogen levels. A dose of 69 kg N/ha with two weedings appeared to be the best with respect to grain yield and mineral content for wheat cultivated in the experimental areas.
