Eight species of fungi including Aspergillus spp., A. niger, S. pulverculentum, Trichoderma ressei, T. pseudokoningii, Chaetomium spp. Pleurotus sajor-caju and P. florida were selected to ferment in order to improve nutritive values. Chopped 2-3 inched long and half-day sun dried water hyacinth (WH) were treated with each fungi with 4 replications. After fermentation for 3, 5 and 7 days, samples of each period were randomized to oven-dried and ground prior to chemical analyses. Then, compared the nutritive value with non-steriled and non-inoculated WH using ANOVA. The results showed that, only energy content were started change significantly difference among treatment after 3 days of fermentation. After 7 days of fermentation, significance different of protein percentage were higher at WH treated with S. pulverculentum, T. ressei, Chaetomium spp., Pleurotus sajor-caju and P. florida. Growing quail feeding with forced-feeding, showed trend enhacement of crude protein digestibility with P. sajor-treated WH. The results stated that at 5 and 7 days of fermentation WH treated with P. sajor cajor were the most nutritive values.
