Comparision in planting Suphanburi 2, Klongluang 87028-6-1-1-1 rice varieties under Thammasat Rangsit campus conditions

Comparison in planting Suphanburi 2, Klongluang 1 and Klongluang 87028-6-1-1-1 rice varieties had been done by seeding in May and harvesting in September 1997 under the field conditions at Thammasat Rangsit Campus in Pathum Thani province. The 3 treatments i.e. Suphanburi 2, Klongluang 1 and Klongluang 87028-6-1-1-1 were arranged in the Randomized Complete Block design with 4 replications. The results showed that Suphanburi 2 could give the highest seed yield/rai of 667.6 kg whereas Klongluang 1 and Klongluang 87028-6-1-1-1 yielded 555.6 and 323.9 kg/rai, respectively. The contribution for the highest yield/rai of Supanburi 2 was its greatest panicle number/hill under acid-sulphate (pH=4.5) and poor soil (OM=1.5 percent) conditions of Thammasat Rangsit Campus.
