Some biological characteristies of the soil under the different forest types in Sonla
2004
Vu Thi Lien
This paper reported on the results of a research carried out at Sonla to make clear the relationship between the vegetation cover and characteristies of microorganisme and bio- activity of the soil under it. The findings showed that the amount of micro-organisme in the soil under the forest cover is depending upon the soil chemical properties and the vegetation coverage as well. It is also affirmed that the amount of microorganisme in the soil under the mature secondary forests is much higher than that under the grass cover, not depending than that under the grass cover, not depending on soil derived from lime stone or shale. The activity of catalaza, invertalaza and ureaza in every kind of soil under grass cover is lower than enzymic activity of every kind of soil under mature secondary forests at 2-2.5 times. Thus, the forest restoration is the best way for soil fertility conservation.
