The report gives an overview of the effects of fires in Gwayi and Bembesi areas found in the Kalahari sands in the western part of Zimbabwe.The study was precipitated by the magnitude of the reduction in stand density of formerly well stocked forest blocks which now show more and more gaps due to frequent veld fires.The study mainly aims to determine the effects these fires had on forest structure, density and species diversity.
