A comparative economic analysis of the fertilizer inputs is made in the study. Their return rate for nine maize yield levels is established. The estimation is based on the recommended fertilization rates using the original models in six fields, which distinguish by the two main nutritious elements (P and K) soil supply level. The analysis shows that the effectiveness of the investments on fertilizers is high. The most significant is the differentiation in the value/cost ratio for the lowest yield levels of 2-3 t/ha -3.4-16.1 units, whereas for the higher yields - 6-10t/ha, it is within 3.6-4.6.
