Effect of vitamin E treatment for reproductive parameters in dairy heifers after estrus synchronization

The study was carried out with heifers during month march. Blood plasma was sampled before and after 30 days alfa-tocoferol traeatment with 1000 IU vitamin E per day. At the begining and at the end of the treatment was provided estrus synchronization with prostaglandines. It was determined estrus parameters. Concentertions of plasma vitamin E were low in all heifers and were slow elevated by treatment (1.29 mg%). The reproductive parameters after estrus synchronization were not different between non treatment and treatment heifers (in heat 70 to 77.7%; days after PgF 2.71 to 2.28 and ovulation rate 50 to 55.5%).
