[Characteristics of phenolic secondary metabolites of Ocimum basilicum L.]

Research results of isolation of essential oil of basil (Ocimum basilicum L.) cultivated on experimental selection plot were presented. In course of gas and chromatography analysis of basil oil the linalool and methylchavicol were identified as the main components of Ocimum basilicum L. that permitted to make the conclusion that the plant belongs to the European chemotype. The contents of phenol compounds, flavonols, hydroxycinnamuc acids, catechines and leukoanthocyanin was determined on the overground mass
