2005
Bunskiene, L.(Lithuanian Inst. of Horticulture, Babtai (Lithuania))
Weed control efficiency of herbicide Basta 150 SL (ammonium glufosinate) and its mixture with herbicide MCPA Super 500 SL was investigated at the black currant plantation of the Lithuanian Institute of Horticulture in 2003-2004. After the first spray with herbicide rate Basta 150 SL 3 l/ha-1, the total number of weeds decreased approximately by 80%, and using Basta 150 SL 6 l/ha-1 and Basta 150 SL 4 l/ha-1 + MCPA Super 500 SL 2 l/ha-1 mixture - 90%. The second spray with herbicides decreased the number of weeds as follows: Basta 150 SL 3 l/ha - 70%, and Basta 150 SL 6 l/ha - 80%. After the spray with Basta 150 SL 3 l/ha twice per season at the end of vegetation the total amount of weeds decreased by 44%, and after the spray with 6 l/ha-1 Basta 150 SL or its mixture with MCPA Super 500 SL - by 90%. Creeping buttercups (Ranunculus repens L.) were most effectively decreased by the mixture of herbicides Basta 150 SL 4 l/ha and MCPA Super 500 SL 2 l/ha-1 and dandelions (Taraxacum officinale L.) - by Basta 150 SL 6 l/ha-1. Currants of cv. "Ojebyn" sprayed with Basta 6 l/ha-1 produced by 53.1% more one-year shoots and by 17.2% more basal shoots than unsprayed ones. Using Basta 6 l/ha-1 rate currant yield increased by 14.6% in comparison with unsprayed currants
