Plant hormone content in different tree organs in relation to interstem in pear model plants

In the years 2003 and 2004 the container trial has been carried out for investigating the dwarfing mechanism of quince as a pear rootstock. Model plants built of rootstock (Quince S1), three interstems of different vogour ("Conference" pear, Quinces S1 and MC) and "Conference" as a scion cultivar have been designed. No influence of an interstock on the increment of the plant mass was recorded. Results of the trial did not provide any clear evidence in support of the hypothesis that reduction of pear vigour by quince rootstock would be due to the reduction of basipetal IAAf low
