The levels of total and reduced ascorbate as well as the activity of ascorbate peroxidase and content of superoxide dismutase in green barley leaves treated with kinetin were studied. It was shown that the kinetin influence on the observed parameters depended on the duration of kinetin treatment and was more effective for 7-days age leaves after repeated three times spraying in course of 3 days. In such conditions the content of total and reduced ascorbare increased on 20% and 60% accordingly in comparison with the control samples. The activity of ascorbate peroxidase increased up to 7% and the content of superoxide dismutase was twice as much as the control sample. The obtained data indicated that kinetin treatment caused the increase of plants antioxidative systems activity. It was supposed that studied barley plants would be more tolerant to stress conditions
