Four field experiments were carried out with winter oilseed rape to identify the efficacy of prochloraz, tebuconazole and azoxistrobine against Alternaria blight on siliques and Phoma stem canker on stems. Of all experimental years the most conductive conditionsto the spread and development of Alternaria blight on siliques occurred in 2000 and 2001, when in the untreated plots disease spots covered 6.96 and 8.25% of the surface area of siliques. The largest number of Phoma stem canker affected plants in the untreated plots was 36.5 and 35.4% in 2000 and 2001 respectively. The highest efficacy of fungicides against Alternaria blight was recorded when they had been applied at the end of rape flowering and at the end of silique development. In the years most favorable for diseases the seed yield in the untreated plots was by up to 649 kg/ha-1 lower than in the fungicide spraed plots
